Archival standards for digital files

Archival standards for digital files

There are five documents here that focus on the recommended minimum standard for digital files. Each document is focused on a different type of original item, i.e. analog or digital photographs. While this is specific to the Rutgers repository, the documents are fairly universal and easy to read.

  1. Thanks for this additional resource, Keely, and thanks for spending time with us this week. One of the sites we’re perusing this week is the California Digital Libraries’ guidelines and best practices page. Many institutions seem to develop their own protocols and suites of choices and then provide what they’ve done, and why, as a resource to the broader community. It’s very helpful.

  2. Thanks for adding these. I like how many of the standards are chosen as compromises between size and quality.
